Top 5 Communication Apps on Android in Qatar Q4 2022

Throughout Q4 2022, the top communication apps on the Android platform in Qatar displayed interesting trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the leading apps.

WhatsApp Business demonstrated a notable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 18.5K in the final week of December. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at around 240K and slightly declining to about 235K by the end of the quarter.

imo HD - Video Calls and Chats experienced a gradual increase in weekly revenue, reaching about $5.1K in late September and maintaining a steady performance around $4K to $6K throughout the quarter. Downloads saw a significant rise towards the end of December, peaking at nearly 14K. Active users also increased, climbing from approximately 188K to 222K by the end of December.

Ooredoo Qatar had a sharp spike in weekly downloads at the end of October, reaching approximately 18.3K. Active users saw a noticeable increase around the same period, peaking at over 86K, before stabilizing around 72.5K towards the end of the quarter.

WhatsApp Messenger recorded a significant boost in weekly downloads in the last week of December, reaching approximately 13.7K. Active users remained consistently high throughout the quarter, starting at around 1.38M and slightly fluctuating to end at approximately 1.42M.

Snapchat showed an interesting trend with a steady increase in weekly downloads, culminating at about 10.6K in the final week of December. Revenue peaked at around $406 in late September and remained relatively stable around $180 to $320 during the quarter. Active users also saw a steady rise, growing from approximately 239K to 285K by the end of December.
